Seana Mallen is an award-winning painter and printmaker and inspiring teacher.

She splits her time between the south coast of England and her native California, inspired by the ever changing beauty of both coasts.

Seana’s paintings capture fleeting and dramatic moments of light, and invite you to wander into the woods or along the river with her.

She uses loose, bold layers of paint and collage that produce expressive textured and colourful landscapes.

Inspired by the views she encounters on dog walks every day, she channels the South Downs, the River Adur, and the shingle beaches of the south coast to create beautiful evocative abstracted compositions that spark the viewer’s own memories and imagination.

As well as painting, she has been inspiring and encouraging people to explore their creativity through art for many years. Seana is passionate about helping others find their own creative voice and has a deep understanding of the value of art in our lives. She is an incredible teacher and mentor, and her enthusiasm for her craft is contagious.

I’ll be sharing my space with three other wonderful artists showing jewelry, ceramics and sculpture alongside my paintings.

Pleased to come visit Shoreham during this wonderful festival. There are over 20 open studios, showing an immense variety of wonderful, creative work.

I’m really looking forward to seeing you here!

My other news is that, sadly,  I have no upcoming workshops planned …on land at least.

I’ve got back into teaching art on cruise ships and I’ve just completed a fantastic 37 day cruise from Tahiti to Perth, Australia.

22 workshops in 37 days, through the South Seas, New Zealand and Australia.

It was an amazing experience… But now selfishly, I just want to concentrate on my own work.

This summer I have another cruise, 22 days from London to New York via the northern Scottish Isles, Iceland, Greenland, and the rugged east coast of Canada.  I’m very excited about it, but I have a lot of lesson planning to do!

I really hope to see you at my open studio in June. Please save the dates!
