Seana Mercedes Mallen is an internationally acclaimed artist who captures her emotional response to the natural world in contemporary semi-abstract painting and printmaking.
Since October 2020 Seana has had a studio at Stanmer Craft Museum, in the heart of beautiful Stanmer Park. She is delighted to be part of a wonderful community of artists and makers, and their work can be found here.
"The Golden Hour" has been selected for the first Sussex Open!
I am really proud of this piece that has developed and changed over the course of two years, adding more layers of gelli-prints, gold and copper leaf and just percolating slowly over time. It is 112cm square, mixed media. Come see here:
The exhibition opens this Saturday at the British Airways i360Tower in Brighton. I was delighted to have been selected, and to see most of the other entrants when I dropped off the painting yesterday. (That's another story, and it's a doozy...).
I feel honoured and privileged to be in such good company.
The exhibition will be a beauty, and I hope the first of many in this beautiful space on the seafront. It is just what Brighton needs!
