I had been searching for a way for my artwork to support the NHS, and I found it! It is such a happy coincidence for me that I’ve become completely obsessed with painting bluebells this spring, and that the charity supporting the NHS happens to be the bluebell appeal.
They are based on walks this spring in bluebell woods in the south downs, and on memories of isabella plantation in Richmond Park. Most include collage of a solar plate etching a lovely old map of the South Downs , and some have postage stamps and bits of an old Roget’s Thesaurus, and each is a unique moment.
